Firenze -day 1

Blog Day 3

Up "bright" and early for our trip to Firenze......

Firenze, known by us as Florence is an ancient city which is the birthplace of the 14th century's most incredible artists authors and scientists.....Michelangelo, Leonardo di Vinci, Dante, Galileo, Amerigo Vespucci, and others were born here around the same time.

We arrived in Florence and were walked to the ancient Piazza della Signoria and had lunch in various locations. From there we had a guided tour throughout the historic center of Florence..We saw the Medici Palace, the Uffizi museum, the Ponte Vecchio, the location where Michelangelo lived and much more. We finished in a leather store to see how Florentine leather is treated.

Back on the bus now headed for Montecatini Terme for the night and then return to Florence for a free day tomorrow

  1. Were you guys told what scenes are depicted on those black and gold doors? It looks like it might be telling a story. And Anika looks so interested in the leather treatment! Howard says she should learn the process so he can get a new leather jacket. Well, for Howard and I, today we saved Antoinette from a bacterial infection in her stomach by shrinking down microscopically. We found three hamsters camping out in her stomach singing old sea shanties. We joined them to form a barbershop quintet and we are now hosting concerts in her right lung. Howard is having trouble matching pitch. I hope our tales of the day are slightly amusing you all as you enjoy Italy! Can't wait to see your adventure for tomorrow.

    Love,
    Abdul, Howard and Antoinette
